Prof. Dr. Koray Çoşkunfırat

He was born in Ankara in 1967. After graduating from TED Ankara College in 1985, he entered Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in the same year. After six years of education, he started his plastic and reconstructive surgery training at SSK Ankara Training and Research Hospital.

During his assistantship, he received the first prize in the clinical branch in the assistant paper competition at the national congress held in Antalya in 1997. After completing his specialization training in 1998, he started working at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine.

Becoming an assistant professor in 2001, Dr. Koray Coşkunfırat was admitted to Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan in 2002, one of the leading names in microsurgery in the world, Prof. Dr. Fu-Chan went to Wei’s clinic. He gained experience on microsurgical methods for 1.5 years and participated in many studies. He won the best paper award at the American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery congress in 2004 with one of his studies in Taiwan. After returning home, Dr. Koray Coşkunfırat continued his studies at Akdeniz University and received the title of Associate Professor in 2005. He still continues his studies at the same University. Dr. Koray Coşkunfırat has more than 50 works published in international journals, 3 book chapters and 1 book chapter translation. He is a member of the editorial board of the international journals Microsurgery and Annals of Plastic Surgery.
